THE FOLLOWING reference list is not intended to be a comprehensive
bibliography on marijuana. For reasons discussed in Chapter 2,
much of the voluminous older literature on marijuana is of little
value to most readers and so has not been included here. The occasional
reader interested in a comprehensive guide to the literature on
marijuana may see Gamage and Zerken, 1969.
